About The Artist

Jodie’s Bio

Jodie is a self taught artist from Alford in Aberdeenshire.
She works predominantly in watercolour with the use of some inks in her paintings.
Jodie mainly paints the flora and fauna that Mother Nature presents in her local surroundings, the forest, peaceful sacred sites, such as stone circles and castle ruins.
She sees beauty in everything, taking great inspirtation from her daily walks with her two dogs Brindi and George - pictured below.
Jodie is happiest when spending time with her wee niece and nephew, adventuring in the forest, foraging for mushrooms and wild food, wild swimming in any water that is safe, hiking any hill or at live music gigs, and loves sharing these experiences with her long suffering partner Kenny, who is a very talented wood carver, and his amazing daughter and Jodie’s wee bestie Karyn.
Her most favourite things to paint are mushrooms and toadstools, animals, insects, flowers and some portraits in a surreal/realistic style.
Jodie has severe dyslexia and ADHD but sees this as her super power and does not let being neurodiverse stop her.
Everlongart Studio & Gift shop is Jodie's wee shop at 29 Main Street in Alford. The shop is full of amazing work by some of the Aberdeenshire regions best Designers, Artists, Crafters and Makers.
Most of Jodies work can be seen in person at the shop.
